Earth Day 2017

First and foremost, THANK YOU!!!

We appreciate you supporting a
plant nursery for your gardening needs.

We are a garden center put together on a
slab of cement in front of an abandoned school.
An urban oasis created from nothing.
We have Annuals, Perennials, Herbs and a BUNCH of basil seedlings along with other herbs and vegetables.
Seeds are in, too!

We have fruit trees and edible shrubs.
Oh, and lots of pots/planters.

LOTS OF COLORS.

Come on in for some fun.

OLD CITY Farm and Guild

Where People and Plants~and Bees and Flowers~Come Together.
We are happy & proud to be offering our fresh honey to the public. Several types of pollinators on our lot give our honey a special taste of its own. Buy local honey!
There are several hives in DC.

If you have allergies, we have connections.
Local honey is great for allergies.

All of our plants are pesticide free.

Lady bugs and praying mantis sacks are in.

Looking ahead to what happens at the farm.
Stop in and just listen to the birds and the bees.

OLD CITY green  moved and became

Where people and plants come together.

We love adding life to places where nothing used to exist but cement and debris.
We took over an abandoned school

BLAST from the Past!

Each week we will show a pic or two from our archives.
Things that happened at 9th and N NW  or in our early days on Rhode Island Ave.

Life really happened at that abandoned corner.
And life is still going on strong  in front of the abandoned school on Rhode Island Ave.

Frank has been a tree hugger for decades.
Thank goodness for the trees. The holiday trees keep us alive all year.
Picture taken Christmas 2011

The picture below is from summer 2016.
This winter we will remember the words of
 Albert Camus:
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.

Time to think of our neighbors, PLEASE!!
If we are spraying to kill mosquitoes, most likely other insects are getting hit as well.

Use organic and herbal solutions, please.
Remember Silent Spring?
Did you read about Monsanto insecticide and herbicides found in honey?

Our plants have no chemicals.

Did you see many these this year?
They were all over the farm.
In fact, there was a fire fly at OLD CITY
this past Friday evening
Mid September?…Awesome.
